Pratyahara literally means disassociation or withdrawal of the sensory awareness from the external world. It is from the stage of Pratyahara that the real psychological aspects of Yoga that is mind management starts.

Pratyahara is a method of introspection by which we can internalize our awareness and discover what is happening to us mentally, how our mind is interacting with situations, conditions, and events that influence our life.

This also helps to understand the nature of our emotions, feelings, and sensitivities; then we gradually train ourselves to observe and analyze how we are responding and reacting to different situations that create an imbalance in our personality.

It has both preventive and curative values for the management of negative mental health e.g. stress, anxiety, phobia, hostility, etc., and further enhances mental quietness, emotional intelligence, personal development, and bliss.
