Personality Development


Every human being might have a different perception, attitude, and meaning for this broad terminology "PERSONALITY”. Personalities are the sum total of an individual’s Psychological traits, characteristics, motives, habits, attitudes, beliefs, and outlooks. There are inherent natural, genetic and environmental factors that contribute to the development of our personality.
Psychologists have done a lot in this field. From Jung to countless modern psychologists all have shed light on the subject of personality-building and they have come out with a variety of methods for achieving the purpose.
If one looks up the definition of Personality development, you will find different explanations but the one that sums it up to an easy and effective understanding is - developing oneself in all spheres of life. For success in any field personality development is necessary. Every one needs to add something more to what is already within him.
Self /Personal Development is a LIFELONG commitment to improving oneself over time and taking personal responsibility for one's own learning and development through some process by which a person's character, abilities or potentialities are gradually developed .It is true that no effort in this direction goes in vain. — Physical Dimension (Annayamaya kosha)
Just as food is essential for the nourishment of the body and for generating energy, definite types of Yoga exercises are required for the healthy functioning of the muscles, bones, joints, all the systems such as digestive , respiratory and particularly for endocrine system which affects our mind, memory and thinking. The yogasana is the subtle exercises which take care of the internal and external development of the human personality. The body which is physically fit looks slim and attractive boosts confidence and self esteem. “Health is Wealth”, it is easier to earn such wealth during our adolescence than to earn in late ages. Breathing is the first act of life and it’s the last act of life. Our life force has three streams called ida, pingla and sushumna in the ancient texts. In terms of modern science they are sympathetic, the para-sympathetic and the central nervous system respectively. The nervous system also affects our personality.The energy dimension is greately affected through pranayama, the act of breathing.
